Tuesday, December 27th, after the funeral of James Dungy, his 18 year old son:
“I’ll start out by saying, ‘Thank You,’ for the love, the prayers and the support that we’ve received from the people of Tampa, the people of Indianapolis and the people all over the country. They’ve been very, very great and gracious to us in a time of grief for our family.
“We loved our son very much. He loved us. And we miss him terribly. But we also understand that we have some tremendous promises from God. God promises to be with us. He’s with us in the great times. He’s with us in the tough times. Our family will stand strong. The strength that we have in the Lord will allow us to get through this just as we get through times of victory.
“Our grief is great, but from our family, we just say, ‘Thank You.’ We just say, ‘Thank You,’ to everyone. We appreciate everybody who has touched his life, everybody who has been part of him growing up. James - he was a good young man with a compassionate heart and we were glad to have him for 18 years.
“We’re also glad that he accepted Christ as his savior so that God has him now for the rest of eternity. Thank You.”

Colts, Patriots, and Bengals have all clinched Division titles. Two teams at 11-3. One hasn’t clinched yet and the other isn’t certain it has a first round bye!
You gotta think that Denver is going to win the AFC West.
Here’s the other 4 with a chance at the playoffs.
- Pittsburgh’s currently 9-5
(final 2 games at Cleveland and hosting Detroit)
will wind up 11-5.
- Jacksonville’s currently 10-4
(final 2 games at Houston and hosting Tennessee)
will wind up 12-4.
- San Diego’s currently 9-5
(final 2 games at KC and hosting Denver)
will wind up 10-6.
- Kansas City’s currently 8-6
(final 2 games hosting SD and Cincy)
will remain with 8 wins @ 8-8.
I like this. It means that San Diego gets left out. They are too dangerous to let live! So if the seeds are:
- Indy
- Cincy (maybe 3)
- Denver (maybe 2)
- NE
- JAX
- Pitt
The first round looks like:
Pitt-Denver
JAX-NE (GO JACKSONVILLE!!!) =-D
(talk about some GOOD FOOTBALL!)
Second round:
AFC Championship game: Indy vs. Denver
Not crazy about that as it means that Pittsburgh goes out in the first round, and I LIKE them just a little bit. Maybe today’s crowd at Damon’s in Erie, PA is rubbing off on me, or maybe it’s the MAD fantasy points that Big Ben netted for me this year. =-D
Anyway, FILE IT. It’s gonna happen. All of it.
Here’s what I don’t get. San Diego is the ONLY team within reach who can take Pittsburgh out of the playoffs. And at Damon’s today, The Steelers fans were cheering for two teams, “The Steelers and whoever plays the Colts”. It’s great, we’re their New England!

Eric, 7-years old, will line up, concentrate, set up to the ball. He’s all business when the club comes back…
he completes his backswing in beautiful form…
and then his left arm bends 120 degrees and he points the clubhead directly at the ground in front of him. He then pauses to observe conditions and people around him…
then without looking back at the ball, he swings.
